What did i read: chapter 18-20 Summary:
Days later Elizabeth is disappointed when Wickham doesn't show up at the ball, but she thinks that he probably planned to be out of town then so that he wouldn't have to be around Darcy, which makes her dislike Darcy more. When Darcy asks her to dance, Elizabeth does not want to dance with him because it might be an insult to Wickham. But she can't find a nice way to say no to Darcy, and it would be mean to let him know that she knows about how he cheated on Wickham. Eventhough she and Darcy she was talking to her a little, she manages to work in Wickham's name just to see what Darcy's reaction will be.
After Lydia leaves for Brighton, Kitty wad sad for a while. Elizabeth was excited for her vacation with her aunt and uncle, but she's disappointed when she learns that the trip will have to be postponed because her uncle must work. Vocab:
