Summary: Killing Rommel is a fictional tale telling the story of multiple young men from across the British empire who have been assembled by the allied headquarters to go deep behind enemy lines and perform ambushes, assassinations, guerilla actions etc. It takes place in 1940's during WW2 in North Africa, Hitler's 3rd Reich is at it's peak and has dealt severe blows to the scattered and tired soldiers of the British military forces stationed in Africa. Thousands of men have died and ten of thousands more have been captured by the swift and deadly forces placed under General Erwin Rommel's command. The protagonist is Richmond L. Chapman, at first he is student at Oxford who then enlists in the army. His intelligence and decisiveness quickly sees him promoted to the rank of officer where he is in charge of a tank division. However, one fateful day his superiors decide to have him moved to a secret commando force. At first, his missions are simple hit-and-run ambushes of bases, supply lines, convoys, and such, until one day orders come from HQ to go find Erwin Rommel, and kill him.
At first, they are unsuccessful and lose multiple men in a well planned ambush that fell apart. The next time they try, they end up suffering massive damage to their vehicles and supplies forcing them to trudge through a multitude of different environments until they come across German Afrika Korps HQ. The brave band of soldiers are then captured by German soldiers who prepare to execute them as PoWs. However, before they can Erwin Rommel himself stops them, sets the allied soldiers free and informs them that he will give them a 3 hour head start. The End.
